Uganda Busia

AJHAM- Energy & Mining Company had signed an MOU with Plate Tectonic Mining Company Ltd, to conduct a preliminary exploration program on the EL1568 concession, aiming to further conducting detailed exploration activities based on the outcoming geochemical results and technical evaluation. In addition, environmental study requirements will be performed prior to mining activity.

The prospect of developing mineral resources is based on better organized geological exploration programs through discovering new occurrences of profitable gold and base metals deposits, as well as other metallic ore minerals and nonmetallic raw materials.

The Busia Goldfield is located in the southeastern part of Uganda bordering the Kenyan International frontier. Geologically, it is underlain by the Archean metavolcanic greenstone belt, which is overlain by quartzite, banded iron formation (separating the greenstone belt from the sedimentary formation) and ended by thick soil formation on the surface. However, sedimentary rocks of the Kenyan Nyanzian System, extend from Kenya (Kavirondo goldfield) to Uganda. Similar geologic features are also found in Tanzania, to the northwest of Shinyanga (Lake Victoria & North Mara goldfield). No any significant outcrops reported in the licensed area, except in the northeastern part of the prospect, in which the rock type is mainly composed of feldspar-quartz-biotite granite, or within the bottom of the streams, consisting of fine grained basic volcanic rocks. Generally, geological setting and its complex units and rock types is more or less based on description resulted either from previous exploration activities, from previous drilling works, or correlated to regional geological setting.
